Welcome to the 15th annual Twin Ports Summer Mite Hockey Camp. 

Our mission is to provide all youth an opportunity to participate and excel through the sport of hockey while building and developing sportsmanship, self-esteem, confidence, and respect for others. A main goal as well as one of our priorities of this summer camp is to make it not only affordable but fun for its youth participants.  While on the ice the camp will focus on improving basic skills. These skills will include general skating abilities, power skating skills such as stride, edge control, turning, stopping, & cross overs.  Stick handling skills such as skating with the puck, stick handling, faking/deking, shooting, and passing are incorporated in drills.  Designed for fun and learning, our format will include small area games for drills specifically keeping it fun and to help maintain attention span.  The camp is designed for the novice intro skater to the more advance technical skilled player. Efforts will be made to match participants to appropriate skill levels.

The camp will be run by mite coaches from local associations.  There will also be local high school players helping with the stations.  The goal is to have a minimum of 6 coaches on the ice each night.  There is a need for a mite skill developmental summer program for the region of northern Minnesota and our Twin Ports.  Our goal is to provide a competitive, economic program that cannot be matched anywhere.  This program out of design is an excellent opportunity for kids to get some hockey in during the summer, play with kids from all over the Twin Ports and most of all have fun.  

All participants/players are required to be dressed in full hockey gear.  This includes helmet, mouth guard, chest protector, elbow pads, hockey gloves, breezers, shin guards, hockey socks, hockey skates and of course a hockey stick.

Ice times: 
Mite 1 6:00-6:55 p.m.
Mite 2 7:05-8:00 p.m.

All sessions will be at Mars Lakeview Arena

We were able to get all evening times again this year which we feel is best for the summer.  The camp will also be at the same location for all 9 dates which will make it more convenient and easier to remember where to go each night.

Cost is $100 for the camp.  This covers 9 hours of ice time total.
